	Toronto The Good May 19th 2009 Dear Torontonians, The Festival of Architecture and Design is here again, and the folks at ERA Architects Inc, Spacing Magazine, Toronto Society of Architects and [murmur] are throwing the fifth annual Toronto the Good party to celebrate me, your faithful city. This year Toronto the Good is going to celebrate my riders, readers and builders with some very special guests. The Toronto Cyclists Union have teamed up with the Toronto Media Lab to create a participatory installation where partygoers can pedal off their cocktails by riding a stationary bike through projected images of me when I was younger. Literary contributions include a Historic Visual Legacy and A Guidebook to Contemporary Architecture in Montreal and the upcoming guidebook for Toronto. The Toronto Carpenters Union, the folks who build me, are also supporting the evening. The party’s programme also includes the now traditional stickering of the Big Map of Toronto, a collection of books by Ben McNally, music by the DJ trio Track Meet (dancing is allowed), and other charming activities. Come out May 19th and have a drink with people who care about me. Love, Toronto.

	The Let's Get Cooking - Food Fun and Nutrition Stage @ CNE August 21 - September 7, 2009 The CNE is proud to be presenting " The Let's Get Cooking - Food Fun and Nutrition Stage" on a state of the art kitchen manufactured primarily using recycled materials, by Umbrella Cabinetry ... A Proud Canadian Manufacturer!


	Blessings in a Backpack w/ Hilary Duff March 6th 2009 Blessings in a Backpack, feeding the future of Canada, come to Toronto with Hilary Duff for an intimate evening of dining and dancing at the newly renovated Ultra. Hosted by etalk’s Tanya Kim proceeds from the night’s event will be donated to Blessings in a Backpack. A cocktail reception and dinner experience will give way to an evening of dynamic entertainment and will feature a silent auction, with items such as Hilary’s signed Christian Louboutins, and raffle tickets to help raise funds to feed the future of Canada.

	The Courage to Lead November 25, 2008 The Courage to Lead event will take place on Tuesday, November 25th. It will be an Art Sale and Silent Auction at Trias Gallery (King & Spadina). Our focus for this event is not only on networking, but on raising money for an extremely worthy charity, Nellie's Shelter for Women and Children. There will be art for sale at the gallery as well as a silent auction featuring several art pieces and some pretty cool stuff. There will be several artists in attendance as well as a host of business women. We will of course be serving some fine vintage wines, incredible hors d'oeuvres, and are honoured to have a professional sommelier speaking about wines and a performance by Kate Rogers Band.

	Heart of Fashion November 16, 2008 The annual Heart of Fashion fundraiser at Bayview Village Shopping Centre helps to raise funds for the North York General Hospital. Umbrella Cabinetry will provide its products for an on-line auction to benefit North York General Hospital's BMO Financial Group Breast Diagnostic Centre and the purchase of a new Ultrasound system.

	Green Gala 2008 November 8, 2008 The second annual Green Gala will once again feature 10 of Canada’s top fashion designers each creating 3 outﬁts made from sustainable fabrics, coming together in a memorable fashion show. Our ﬁrst Gala was labeled the “Greenest Fashion Event in Canada”, and we will once again be taking great measures to reduce our eco-footprint and lay claim to this title. From the cosmetics and hair care products used on models, to our printing process, food and beverages, décor elements, lighting and energy source, The Green Gala aims to inspire other event planners to lighten their footprint, while at the same time shining a spotlight on the potential that sustainable fabrics have to make evening wear and couture clothing. The event will be bolstered by a live and silent auction, as well as entertainment, and will also feature media personalities and celebrities modeling the clothing on the catwalk! 	Sustainable Style Show 2008 November 8, 2008 The Sustainable Style Show: This landmark event will raise consumer awareness around fairly traded, locally and ethically produced products, as well as those made from sustainable materials. With the rise of environmental consciousness, we have witnessed an increased effort to make smarter shopping choices, yet “greenwashing” has created confusion around what is truly sustainable. All our vendors have met one or more of our set criteria in order to be a part of this show, ensuring that you are presented with truly sustainable options. The Sustainable Style Show is a one-stop shop for those looking to put their wallet where their heart is, for the planet.
